a visit to the veterinarian
So, we took Rigby to the Vet- she was due for quite a few of her shots... but this visit we also learned that she may, perhaps, have all kinds of allergies and skin issues. The long and short of it is that Rigby is now on a special diet. She is restricted to eating this hypo-allergenic, pure, no additives or fillers kind of food.
When we left the Vet (after Ben reminded me that this Vet visit cost him his Wii, to which I then made the point that this visit did not take the place of "his" Wii since we were not planning to buy one anyway) he also made the point that this dog now has a picky diet just like his owner, yours truly. Yes, it's true my dog and I both kind of like to stick to a somewhat additive and preservative free diet. I like to think I am preventing cancer, or something, and Rigby hopes it will clear up her allergies. We're weird, so what. I guess it runs in the family...

and so, this is christmas

I also love Christmas trees. I wish I had one in my house all year. This is one of my favorite Christmas ornaments because it is pretty antique. I just think it's neat, and I thought it was special because I really thought it was my grandmother's-- until today when my aunt said she really has no idea where that ornament came from. Oh well, I will put it on my tree each year and fondly remember my g-ma anyway.
Ben played outside with Babies since we experienced surprisingly warm weather today. He loved it, and later, while visiting Ben's parent's he played outside with their dog, Bert. Needless to say, an active morning.
When we got to my aunt's house for Christmas dinner I got to spend time with my puppy, Rigby. I love her, a lot... but she boards pretty permanently here at my aunt's home. She just celebrated her 8th birthday this month, and her little red face is turning gray. Sweet girl...
By the end of the evening, Babies and Rigby were both pretty tuckered out. A busy Christmas.
And since none were taken last year, I made Ben take a Christmas photo with me. Merry Christmas to all. (and to all, a good night).

jesus is on his way...
I have only just begun Christmas shopping. I'm not really sure why I always wait until the last minute... but I just do. I got a few gifts on Friday only due to the help and guidance of sweet Kaley. Today I am thinking I should get a few more done--but it just seems to scary to venture out there to the mall or where ever. Anyway, shopping has not seemed stressful to me at all, until now, I admit, now I feel a little stress. And I don't like being stressed about Christmas, I LOVE Christmas.
I remembered that I had taken a small really poor quality "video" of Val's concert a few weeks ago. This is just a snippet of her band performing a song that Val wrote with the help of an old favorite Christmas tune in there. I just love it. The video is just blackness, so you can really only listen, and even then you can hear people talking in the background and it's not great quality (so I hope she's not too mad I am posting this awesome clip). But, if you can get through all of that, I think this song is just beautiful- and it reminded me today that I don't need to be stressed.

the hap-happiest season of all...

And yes, that tree you see is a 3-dimensional masterpiece by Beth. And I think maybe Val's snowman is wearing argyle. 12.07.2008

Here I am, the dancing queen, with my husband... I am very thankful for my birthday present and our day in Baltimore.
